Adjara wants to accept more tourists

In Adjara, the tourist season began. According to the Republican Department of Tourism and Resorts, 66 700 tourists have already visited this republic since the beginning of this year. 20 thousand of them arrived in July, including 4,242 foreigners.

In 2009, Adjara plans to host about 320 thousand tourists. Recall that the tourist flow in the republic is growing steadily. If in 1995 4,800 tourists came here, then by 2005, 147 thousand tourists chose to rest in Adjara. Only in the first four months of 2008 the republic received 18,613 travelers, which is 75.5% higher than the same period of 2007.

At the same time, as the "Business-Georgia" agency reports, the private sector of the popular resort of Kobuleti is not enough for the current number of guests: cafes, bars and trade objects are still operating without profit.

In turn, luxury hotels in Kobuleti do not experience such problems. Along with the luxurious service, they offer guests and entertainment. For example, Georgian Palace Hotel offers live music every day. And soon the hotel will receive guests and participants of the jazz festival.

In total, Adjara has 39,780 places for tourists, of which 6,000 are in hotels; the rest – in the private sector and guest 1.3 million hryvnia for the organization of the holiday season in the Crimea..In general, this year Adjara was visited by fewer tourists compared to last year, but for July their number is 10% higher than in 2007.

"Aeroflot" warns about fraud in the social network

Most Russian residents organize their vacation themselves

Less than a quarter of Russians (23%) organize their vacation with the help of travel agencies, while 71% say that they manage exclusively with their own resources. These are the results of an online survey conducted in June 2009 by the holding company "Romir".

As reported in the press release of the holding, women buy permits in travel agencies more often than men (29% and 17% respectively). The share of those who resort to the help of specialists grows in proportion to the income of respondents. If only 10% of low-income citizens go to buy tours, then in a group of people with an income above the average, every third (35%) applies for help in organizing recreation in the agency. Much more often turn to travel agencies and representatives of high-income groups of the population.

For recommendations on recreation, Russian residents go first of all to relatives, friends and acquaintances (68%), 66% study information on the Internet. At the same time, women who seek recommendations for Internet sources are more than men (70% and 62%, respectively). A 28 million Russian tourists have chosen to travel around their country (26%) of respondents from the mass media find useful information about the rest,almost the same number of respondents (24%) consulted at once in several travel agencies and only after that they decide where to go for a break.

The study involved 2038 residents of Russia from all federal districts at the age of 18 years.
